If you are like most people, you are trying to make every dollar go further. If you are like most people, you also want to get new things even when you know that you shouldn’t spend the money. Fortunately there may be a solution that helps you stretch your paycheck and still allow you to get new stuff. Shopping for free samples can be a great past time to pick up.

There are some secrets you need to know when you go shopping for free samples. Before we start, make sure you understand that free doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t have to do anything. Often, you will have to give something in order to get something. Sometimes this is as simple as giving your zip code or email address. Other times, you need fill out a survey or complete some other trial offers. You may even need to sign up for a trial offer that will charge you later if you don’t cancel. The key is to make sure you know the specifics of the offer and cancel if you don’t want to get charged for whatever trial you agreed to. As long as you pay attention, you can get lots of stuff for a few minutes of your time or a small fee.

One of the most prevalent things you will find is offers for free makeup samples. Free cosmetic offers can be anything from free eye shadow to expensive wrinkle lotion trials. The coupons usually only require you to fill in a little information while the trial offers will require you to pay shipping and handling and agree to future shipments so make sure you cancel your free trial if you don’t want to pay for future shipments.

Free baby stuff is another good area to cash in on savings. free baby samples are available for everything from diapers and baby food to $500 gift cards for baby clothes. The coupons usually only require a little personal information like your email address or mailing address so they can send you the coupons. The gift card offers will require you to fill out surveys or sign up for trial offers with other companies. As long as you pay attention to the requirements, you should be able to collect a gift card for far less than what you spend on the trial offers.

There is one last area for you to consider that could be very valuable. There are websites where you can get a free list of government grants. There is the potential for you to get a lot of money, but just like the higher valued offers we talked about already, you will have to sign up for a trial membership. It will cost you almost nothing to begin with, but after a couple weeks or a month, you will have to pay more if you don’t cancel. I don’t know how many grants are really available, but for a couple bucks shipping and handling, you can try to get lucky.

Whenever you are doing trial offers, just make sure you pay attention to the fine print and remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Other than that, go out and start getting some free stuff!
