Traveling with your pet can be extremely difficult most of the time. This is especially true if you’re traveling on a plane with your pup. One thing that you want to make sure before you even think about purchasing your tickets is getting an airline approved dog carrier. This will not only keep your dog extremely safe during the plane ride, but you will actually be able to get on the plane!
Having a stressed out dog on a plane does not just stress you out, it stresses everyone out, that is why these types of dog carriers that are airline approved are so important. There are a lot of restrictions on these types of carriers so finding out the rules ahead of time is a great idea. All of these rules were designed to ensure that your pet and you’ve a safe journey!
If you do not find out exactly what your airline wants out of a dog carrier and you show up with your own dog carrier, you could actually miss your flight. You always want to make sure that you call ahead of time, that way when you get to the airport, there are no surprises.
One of the very first questions that you need to be asking whenever you’re traveling with your pet is the size restrictions. If you’ve a very massive dog, you will probably need to check your dog into the plane’s cargo area. While that sounds terrible, it is actually pretty comfortable if you get the right crate.
At the same time, however, you’ll need to check with the airline about size restrictions. You could show up with a carrier which is too big, only to be told that the airline won’t accept it due to its size. Fortunately, all it takes is a call to the airport before you fly out. Make sure you call early enough ahead of time that you’ve the opportunity to exchange a carrier if you need to do so.
You may be able to carry your dog onto the plane with you, and keep him in the cabin. Small dogs are, of course, most best for this. You still need to make sure you find out what kinds of carriers are accepted by the airline in this case. That way you’ll also know if your dog is the type which can stay in the cabin.
The airline isn’t the only important thing to take into account though. Your pet’s comfort comes into play quite a lot. Above all, your dog has got to be comfortable and safe in his carrier. There needs to be room for him to move around and he cannot be too crowded. You don’t want to make this an unpleasant experience for him.
There are all kinds of Airline Approved dogs carrier which meet airline approval. You simply need to know what your airline expects and what transport dogs will make your dog comfortable. Taking the time to find out long before your trip is thus extremely necessary. Be smart about your Dogs accessories.
